5 WAYS I TAKE TO ESCAPE DEPRESSION AND YOU SHOULD TRY THEM TOO

Our hectic schedule and busy lives have made it difficult for us to take some time for ourselves.

We are caught up by one thing or another and days pass on without count. Weeks pass on without notice and years go by without change.

This as a whole builds a burden on our shoulders and we desperately want to take that out and gain some relief.

I try practicing a lot of ways to clear my head and start again with a new intention. Here are some that I do and you should try too:

1) TAKE A NAP:

What better way to distance yourself from all the chaos than taking a nap.

Our minds need a break when a lot happens repeatedly. All the work can tire us out and decrease our productivity.

With such a restless schedule of ours, we must take some time out and reboot ourselves.

By taking a nap our brain can filter the unnecessary work from the necessary work. A good nap will also return our body to normal and ready to hustle again.

We do believe that a nap is a waste of a good 1–2 hours of our day but in fact, it only refuels us to do our work better and improved.

At first, it may not sound like an advantage, but when you implement it in your life as I did you’ll discover the wonders of a good nap.

2) ENGAGE IN YOUR HOBBIES:

Another way to escape this dreadful pressure is to do something that will cheer you up. It means doing something that you love to do.

Engaging yourself in work that can boost your mood should help you in despondency.

It can be anything from cooking, reading, playing video games, watching a movie, or even taking a shower.

When I feel downhearted I would either cook something or look after my garden or read a book.

I may also play cricket or do some cardio workouts in my room. This not only helps my body physically but mentally too.

You can go for whatever you love but don’t just sit and overthink your situation. It will exacerbate your mood and you’ll be in misery.

Participating in such activities may distract your mind from the crisis. It will help in the rehabilitation of your mind and clear out the excess junk in it.

You’ll be contended after doing what you love and it will help you achieve your further due tasks productively.

3) GOING FOR A WALK:

Believe it or not, walking is a remedy to depression. Starring the walls of your room in the darkness won’t benefit you. But a walk will surely do.

Going out in nature and having a walk can help your mind rejuvenate. It will refresh your body and revive your soul.

Whenever I feel disconsolate I simply go for a walk. I may walk on the streets or go to the park.

While walking you will think of lots of different scenarios. I do the same. But walking initiates your mind to think optimistically. It energizes you to believe in positivity.

I mostly go for a walk alone and would recommend the same. It is a time for you to re-energize. You need to fight your battles of thoughts and walking turns them positively.

Going for a walk, watching the sky, the people, the birds, flowers, feeling the scent in the air will hit differently and will prove to be a better decision than staying awake in your room.

4) SHARING IS CARING:

You need to have someone in your life to whom you can open anything happening in your life.

It can be your parents, your siblings, a friend, your partner, or anyone else you’ll feel comfortable with. Anyone you can trust blindly will help you in these consequences.

Sharing your heart out to someone will lighten the burden on your shoulders. It will encourage you that your loved ones are out there caring for you.

They won’t be making fun of you. Instead, they will be standing side by side with you in your bad times too.

There is little or no shame in saying anything to them. And them inspiring you will stimulate your happy hormones. They might even try to make you laugh because they can’t see you depressed.

Keep them close and share everything with them. Also if they are in any sort of trouble help them out too.

5) EAT WHAT YOU LOVE:

Okay, I know this is a bit weird. But I've tried it and it has done wonders for me every time.

Having your favorite meal can uplift your mood instantly. You will feel joy in eating them and if you’re me, then cooking them too ;).

Whenever you are down, just go out or cook your favorite meal. Enjoy it with a nice movie or with a loved one. Take every moment in your soul.

As I said it has done wonders for me, so it can do for you. I just believe that it is a special moment when you have it and I need to be happy and ready before taking it in.

These are some of the ways that I implement whenever there are bad moments in my day. And I want you to be happy so I would love it if they can help you in any way.

Depression is a real threat in society nowadays. It is our responsibility to spread awareness about it and help anyone suffering break free of it.

This is just a little contribution from my side and I hope everyone reading it may benefit from it.

Be happy be caring and be lively always.
